Version 2

She made coffee at four AM, the scent filled her walls, and she inhaled and slept. She rested not, grew tired and lay alone. The past wove harmonies, music drowned her, she forgot. And when the silver morning shone she no longer reached out, when the bluebirds sang her ears were closed.

He listened for the phone, silence rang and he heard it in his throat. And when he clasped his hands, there was nothing; when he opened his eyes there was darkness. He dreamt not, and the sound escaped him.

Then, when they had been, they were honesty. They were the wind in autumn and four hands echoing laughter. They were a new definition that nobody had read.

The colours of the weather wound heavy, until all was yellow, smooth and sharp. The yellow mixed and changed, purples, reds, blues and greens, she rode the bus and sat alone. The towns, feilds, the roads blurred to crystal gray.

A stop away, amber oppertunity dazzled and clinked to her side. He saw her determination, he understood her melody.

Something drew him toward her- her worn face as she clutched a pen. She opened her book and he wisked it away, he wanted to read her- to know her. He needed the distant curves of her handwriting to be his language.

Afraid, she withdrew. They hid behind a drawing, eluded by inks until they rested in conversation. When she looked to him- through powder blue clouds, he smiled and they walked down to childhood. -When they passed a beach their eyes locked- haze parted and future spoke. Eyes ran over fantasy- past the dark sand glazed with heaving sea foam, and into the hues of sun. They got off at the stop, and each walked alone, purple and pensive. When they met again it was in silence... and he made his way east.

Away in the gulf something drew her toward him- his strong fingers as he smoothed his hair- and the ocean curled and whispered. He submerged in the water to pour out his pain, and his lungs contracted with sorrow. Her faint silhoutte floated to his side as if driftwood, and she wisked him away. She wanted to breathe him- to know him. She needed his rhythm to be her understanding.

Eyes locked once more- but future whispered faintly. No embrace would set them off, no assurance would adorn them.

She saw his shadow one night, and he followed it in blacks and reds, sheilds that hid his heart. And when they met, they met in silence. Night flew deepened and let them in...

...and i`m still not done.
