Year in Review.

I've been neglecting writing for an indeterminate and unhealthy amount of time. I feel like I'm slowly losing myself and becoming a wet blanket of academic studies.

This year I have been periodically extremely happy and then suddenly unhappy. I find this is the case year-to-year. There is no cause to be alarmed, it is most likely just a personality flaw.

Late 2007 to early 2008 I battled early signs of stress-related alcoholism and sufficiently tortured my asthma-inflicted lungs. I quickly coughed up a lung, had a night of 'too much fun' and quickly scared myself into sober submission. This year, I abandoned serial dating tendencies. I was single from August 2007-August 2008. I am now dating someone who has realistic aspirations, will obtain a college degree, has no addictions, and harbors a healthy love of my first loves, film and literature.

This year, I have read very little, and watched more films than I had in my entire nineteen years of life. This year I deprived myself of what I would most like to do in lieu of what I should do.

This year I've decided to become an Ethnographer. I have abandoned any pipe dreams and I am now a silly stuffed shirt.
